Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Police stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Police then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police state preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the attack rendered him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
